Birthday Money Gift Box Template – Pizza Edition

When my husband said, “Let’s just throw some money in the card and call it a day” I, of course, spent hours designing, printing, and constructing tiny pizza boxes instead.

This week a dream of mine finally came true – I GOT A PRINTER!

I’ve wanted one for years but always found a reason to put it off. But the time had come, and I’m absolutely making the most of it. So when my husband said, “Let’s just throw some money in the card and call it a day” I, of course, spent hours designing, printing, and constructing tiny pizza boxes instead.

You can now grab the files to make your own from my Etsy store!

Step one was a deep dive into pizza restaurant branding to make sure I got the vibe right. Then came designing a pizza box template, sketching a hand-drawn pizza slice, and spending way too long flicking through fonts to find the one.

The design took cues from your local pizza shop mixed with that classic 90’s nostalgic Pizza Hut style

Then it was time to bust out my newest child — affectionately named Bitsie by the human children. I printed the box on 250gsm cardstock, then flipped the sheet and printed a checkerboard pattern on the reverse side.

All printed out and ready to go!

Finally, it was construction time — the painstaking process of cutting everything out with a craft knife, scoring, folding, and sticking it all together. Then a quick photoshoot before we run out the door to the event!

The finished product! Made extra cute in my hands for scale

They came out so cute! As is tradition, I paraded them around the house making everyone tell me how good they are and listen to me talk about how great it is to own a printer!

Next up I’m making a more Christmassy take on the idea of mini packaging. Can’t wait!
